The order Passeriformes is the largest bird order in both the morphological classification (26 bird orders) and the biochemical classification (23 bird orders) of birds. Worldwide, there are around 100 families, 1100 genera and around 5,000 to 5,700 species in this order (Proctor & Lynch 1993). All members of this familiy share common feathers such as anisodactyl toe configration and unique bone stucture on the roof of their mouth. This order is also called Song birds, but some members such as jays, crows, nuthatches and swallows do not have a singing voice (well not least not to most humans).
