Type of Shell: Hard, dome shell Mississippi Mud Turtles are the smallest species of Mud turtles native to Texas. They max out at just under five inches. They are found in Central and East Texas and almost into South Texas along the Gulf Coast. Like other Mud turtles, this species also has two hinges on its plastron. |
