Mexican Milk Snakes are one of about 25 different subspecies of the Eastern Milk Snake. This species can be found all the way from Canada to Andes Mountain range in Columbia. The Mexican subspecies is found from Central to South Texas and into Northeastern Mexico. They are a medium sized Milk Snake that grows to two to three feet in length. Mexican Milk Snakes are nocturnal snakes that hunt rodents and reptiles. Unlike other subspecies of Milk Snakes, their belly pattern is mostly black, with yellow bands that separate the black parts from each other. New Mexico, Louisiana and Central Plains Milk Snakes are also native to Texas.
