One of three species of Horned Lizards found in Texas. The other two are the Mountain Short-Horned Lizard and the Texas Horned Lizard. Roundtail Horned Lizards are the smallest of all Horned Lizards, adults average around 3 to 4 inches long.
This species is found in West Texas, Southern New Mexico and Southeast Arizona in dry and sandy scrub lands. Roundtail Horned Lizards mainly eats Red Havester Ants and Honey Pot Ants.
