Arid Land Ribbon Snakes are found in Southwest and West Texas, with an isolated population in the lower Panhandle. Like other Ribbon Snakes, they mainly eat fish and amphibians. They will also feed on small toads, Ribbon Snakes, like Hognose snakes, have adrenal glands secrete adrenaline that counteract the effects of digitaloid (a toxin secreted by toads, that slows the heart, and can cause death). However their adrenal glands are not as large as hognose snakes' so they are limited to eating only small toads.
